Job Opportunity

I just stumbled upon a job opportunity that I'm very interested in pursuing within my current company. It has its pluses and minuses, but it would mean more money and a bonus, which I'm not eligible for at my current pay grade.

Of course, I'm hesitating to apply because I'm just starting IVF #2 and "might be pregnant" soon. My current job is pretty easy after so many years doing it. I have flexible hours and can work from home when I need to.

If I wasn't dealing with IF, this would not be an issue. Yet another sacrifice to the alter that is IF.

So, should I apply for this new, high pressure job? Would I regret NOT applying? What to do?

Such a hard decision to make. I would say go for it, but that really isn't what I would do. I like having an easy job with flexibility. Good luck deciding. Maybe you should apply just to see what happens.

Gosh that's a tough one. I could see both sides. I feel IVF is tough and almost like a small job in itself yet who wants to put their career on hold for nasty ol' IVF!?! I just can't make a decision. I can tell you that I considered a new job before this last ivf and decided to stay put and focus on my upcoming cycle. Good luck to you!

That's a hard choice. I would say go for it. That way you have something to focus on if (heaven forbid) the next cycle doesn't pan out. I know that if I were in your shoes, I would go for it...just to see what happens.

Whatever your choice...good luck!

Go for it. It all works out. People get pregnant all the time with stressful jobs; IF makes us think that the world needs to stop, but it really doesn't.

Last year I saw an opportunity to apply for a better job in my company. I was on the fence for exactly the same reason. It's been a bit more stressful, but it's been 13 months and I'm still not pregnant so glad I took the risk. By the time I do get pregnant (I hope) it will be an old/easy job.

Apply. better to keep your options open, and more money can always come in IF handy. you can always turn them down/drop out of contention when you get knocked up on this cycle.

Apply, and then you can worry whether to take it if it's offered to you. I kept applying to a few great opportunnities when we were cyclking- and now I'm stuck wiping butts for roughly 5 bucks an hour.

Don't put off your life for 'maybe.'

I'd give it a shot and see where it goes. Good luck, whatever you decide!

Apply, apply!! There's no harm in that. We've had to learn to not put things on hold!! :)

There is no harm in applying. If you get it, then you can evaluate it more thoroughly. You might find that it isn't a good fit regardless of IVF'ing. Good luck! They'll be lucky to have you in this other job.
