FET Beta #1

Dr. W just called with beta test results: HCG = 18.

So I'm pregnant, but we're not sure the one embryo that implanted is going to hang in there. Dr. W said that frozen embryos give out lower HCG at this point.

I test again Monday morning. Beta #2 has to be 35 or better.

Disappointed my number is so low. It's hard to hang on to hope.

More waiting. Good g-d. When will this roller coaster end?

Jem

I have been checking on you constantly today! Try to stay positive! Beta numbers don't mean much...just that you are pregnant!! I have no experience with an FET, but my first beta was low. It happens all the time. I have a good feeling about this! Can't wait to hear your good news on Monday!

Ugh, I know how hard this is. I really am hoping for a great number on Monday, 35 or higher! So many successful pregnancies have started out with low betas, I've read a million stories about them! Keep your spirits up! You are pregnant after all!

I've been thinking about you all day. I'm sorry that you didn't get the high number you were hoping for, but try to stay positive. I didn't know that FETs have lower betas. Good to know. I've got everything crossed for you and will be thinking of you Monday. roller coaster indeed. Hang in there.

Hey Jem,
I tested positive for antiphospholipid antibodies, an acquired thrombophilia that can cause tiny blood clots that impede implantation. This is treated with heparin, but the particular antibody that I tested positive for is known to raise the level of natural killer cells in the uterus once implantation has occurred. The elevated natural killer cells are treated with intralipids. I have endometriosis and sought out a doctor who believes in endo and the immune connection (the vast majority don't). This is actually why we aren't being treated by a local RE. If you are interested here's a link to a detailed blog post I did with some articles linked in it.

Let me know if you have any questions about it. I've done TONS of my own research.

I'm sorry it's not higher, Jem. But you are pregnant, and it may just be a late-implanter. Hang in there, I know that is easier said than done. I hope Monday and high numbers come quickly for you.

Deep breath, now cheering for those numbers to double!

Let's go, doubling numbers! I have heard that FETs tend to produce lower betas, FWIW. Fingers shall remain fully crossed for the next 48 hours!!!

Oh, Jem, I am so glad to hear that you are pregnant! It sounds like a lot of people on here agree FETs produce lower betas and many pregnancies start out with low betas, so that's reassuring...Take good care of yourself and hang in there for a couple more days! ((Good luck hugs))
Love,
Maddy

As always in our thoughts & prayers. You WILL be a mom, somehow, some way- it's hard to see that now, but from someone at the other end who still finds herself shocked.... just keep thinking your positive vibes. Love you!

Wishing you lots and lots of luck for tomorrow's beta!

My fertile friend was just telling me how she had a low beta # at first with her pregnancy, and her baby is 2 months old now!

Hang in there.

So sorry Jem. Well I will be praying that Monday's beta is over 100!! Maybe your little FE needed some extra time. Positive vibes being sent your way.
