Urology Report

Mr. Jem went to see "Dr. Johnson" on Thursday and we got the results of his blood tests. Mr. Jem’s testosterone level is very low and his FSH is very high. His brain is telling his testicles to produce sperm, but the “factory” has shut down. Actually, the right testicle has shut down production and the left one is on partial strike. Thus the low, low, low, low sperm count.

Dr. Johnson prescribed testosterone gel.

The good new: the Rx should help Mr. Jem’s testosterone level, increase his libido (yay!), his energy level, and core muscle mass.

The bad news: He’ll need to apply the gel every day for the rest of his life. It will not do anything to increase his sperm count.

The other good news: We still have the 3 embryos and a bunch of tissue from Mr. Jem’s testicular biopsy.

We still haven't made a decision on which doctor to use or when to have our FET. More discussion needed.

I'm so glad you've got some answers... wishing they were different, but glad you know how to move forward.

I so hope that the 3 embryos are all you need for a sticky bean or two.

Glad you got some answers, just wishing those answers didn't require daily gel! Hoping the three frosties work their magic!

Wow, I'm glad to hear that Mr. Jem found some answers, although they may not have been the ones you were hoping for.

Good luck picking an RE!

That's not such fun news about Mr. Jem, even though having answers at all can be a relief.
Good luck with your big FET decisions. I would always recommend my Dr. K to anyone. He freakin' rocks!

Applying a gel for the rest of your life isn't the end of the world in the big picture... and hey, does Dr. Johnson mean that Mr. Jem needs to apply the gel on his "johnson"? Maybe Mrs Jem can help.......

Pull off the band-aid and go with the covering doctor. I've fallen out of love with Dr. Wonderful.

I know we are supposed to write "whatever you decide will be the right decision..." but in the end, your schedule is more important than who is doing the deed if the replacement is competent.
