The FU IF diet (updated)

After crying for an hour straight after receiving the news of our BFN, I started implementing my plan for the FU IF diet.
  • I began with a hot dog for lunch yesterday.
  • I had a glass of red wine at 4:00 p.m. (on an empty stomach). It tasted AMAZING.
  • Followed by another glass with dinner - pepperoni pizza (acupuncturist had me on no pork and low carb, thus no pasta and pizza).
  • I had chocolate for dessert, first time in months.
  • Then a little fun in the bedroom - Thank you, Big O. It does help as a mood lifter.
  • This morning: bagel (see above), medium-sized latte (Low fat and full caff of course), cream cheese (I had cut way back on dairy), egg quiche (and I had also cut out eggs). Then a cream cheese danish.
  • Lunch: I will have some sort of sliced meats, preferably processed with nitrates.
  • Dinner: Sushi (raw fish), and sake. Then candy and popcorn at the movie theatre. Planning on going at the time I would (should) have had my PIO shot.
Take that, IF!

This is how I cope. I hope I don't feel too sick with all this crap.
Eventually (in the next day or so), I will go back to a "eat healthy food" diet so I can lose the extra 20 lbs (Thanks to two IVFs and a FET). In the meantime, I will do what I want to.

I'm back in the office and I don't feel like crying. That's good, right?

Thank you to all of you for the outpouring of sympathy. You all get it. I appreciate it.

WTF appointment scheduled for July 22. Should have been our first OB scan. FML. (oh, no, the tears are starting...)

~Jem

Update: Urpppp. Now I feel jittery and a little sick...

Eat and drink away! I think you deserve a little fun in food - you've been on a ton of restrictions. Have some extra wine for me, maybe a beer too.

((((((hugs))))))

I so know how you feel right now. It really really bites. I wish there was something I could do to make you feel better, but just know that I totally get it.

Take care.

Yes, drowning yourself in carbs and alcohol sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your hubby - there's time for all that healthy crap later.
Thinking of you...

Ugh, I totally know how you feel. I fully support the FU IF diet too. It must be done. Personally, I'm going for margs tonight :-)

I'm so sorry Jem. I'm glad you're indulging. After all that hard work, you deserve it.

Eat and drink up! I don't think anyone realizes ALL we give up during this IF journey. And when we have nothing to show for it it sucks! HUGS.

Sounds like a brilliant idea. Anything that might help you feel even a tiny bit better.

Jem, I've been thinking of you nonstop since yesterday. I'm glad you're full-on indulging in the FU diet, you deserve it. But I know it's one helluva disappointing consolation prize.

Hang in there.

I <3 your diet plan. I so get it! My hubs always gives me a hard time about the FUIF diet, but I SO do it too. Thanks for the great name, I am so stealing it! Hang in there. Take as long as you need, the weight will wait (ha, pun unintended) to come off. Hugs to you guys.

here via LFCA, wanted to say that I am so sorry for your BFN and that red wine is my favorite choice too for comfort.

Glad you're finding some enjoyment & saying FU to infertility! I also have been indulging in wine this past couple of days since I had been without during my pregnancy. I figured what the hell might as well enjoy it now! So tonight as I raise my glass I'll also think of you & say a toast to us infertiles!

Jem, I'm really sorry. And I have a similar diet going on. FU, Infertility to the hundredth power.

i am IN! put me down for a vanilla frosted donut, reg coffee with extra cream, (i tried to get a co-worker to pick me up an extra donut at break, but the ONE day he doesn't do to dunkin donuts? cmon people, my IVFET failed-make with the treats!)
uum nasty subway for lunch, i plan on drinking as much of a bottle of red wine as i can muster and ditto for a cheesesteak hoagie.

OMG makes me wish i was in SF!

I must admit I do the exact same thing after each BFN... soft cheese, glass of wine, espresso, you name it. Got my most recent BFN this morning, so guess what I'm eating/drinking tonight?! Whatever the hell I want!

You DESERVE it!! You've been through hell. I never got past IUI's (no IVF in my state) but I still get it. Completely. It's so nice to have this ring of great ladies who understand!!

I hope you have an outstanding weekend. Big hug!

Good for you! Eat and drink what the hell you want, and enjoy every minute of it. You deserve to let your hair down and indulge after what you've been through. Sending more hugs to help you along!

Excellent! Love the FU IF diet! After several BFN's (which always seemed to come on a Friday for me) I indulged the entire weekend. Starting most often with a glass of wine after the dreaded phone call. Take care and enjoy yourself!! There's plenty of time to be healthy and to be deprived of the good stuff (especially those 9 months when you WILL be pregnant!)

I am so sorry to see your news. Enjoy the indulgence, hope it helps to ease your broken heart a little.

I am so sorry, Jem and Mr. Jem. This is not fair. I will be thinking of you guys as you make your decisions on next steps.

I'm so sorry about the BFN. I love your FU diet, though. Good for you. I hope the appointment on the 22nd can give you some good ideas.

Wine and carbs I think are a winning combination for right now.

Thinking of you and sending you hugs and chocolate cake across the water.
