Hi-ho, Trigger, Away!

As of 8:30 p.m. (Pacific) I am officially triggered, officially ovulating!

Yippy-kay-yay, mother-fraker!!!

In exactly 36 hours we'll be harvesting those eggs. BTW, here is my first sonogram of my right ovary!

Beautiful, isn't it? Look at those gorgeous follicles. A face only a mother could love.

I'm still feeling so many contradictory emotions, and it's not just due to the elevated estrogen! Right now I feel elated, hopeful. And then I think of Mr Jem's seaman (ha!) analysis tomorrow, and I'm full of dread. If it doesn't go well, he'll visit the urologist tomorrow afternoon to prep for surgery on Egg Retrieval on Thursday. If they don't find sperm, then we'll have to go with donor sperm. Mr. Jem was involved with the selection, but after looking at a bunch of profiles he said, "You pick, I can't take this anymore." This was when he was told that we had a 98% chance of getting sperm from a biopsy. We'll know for sure our chances tomorrow.

So many ups and downs in this process.

Nicely done. (I hope it didn't hurt too much!?) Good luck on the ER, and super good luck on the swimmers.

That is a lot of eggs, my dear! I hope everything goes great and you have some wonderful swimmers from Mr. Jem. Also, since you have so many eggs, be on the lookout for OHSS...make sure you keep plenty of liquids in you. Best of luck on a great retrieval!

Nice baking, Jem!

I totally get that Mr. Jem is not into picking the donor sperm. It's like picking that prostitute (I still say it's probably the more economical way to go, but what do *I* know? Not much!). Mr. Jem's: "I think Mrs. Jem prefers her prostitutes to look like George Clooney and to be charming like Hugh Grant, rich like Bill Gates, smart like any Nobel Prize winner and with just a flicker of Obama's public speaking skills". NOT!

Just remember, no matter who the DNA comes from, in the end it is YOUR (plural) child. I have plenty of friends who share 0 DNA with their kids and I promise you they love them just the same!

And your baby will love you unconditionally (until they get to be two or three)...

Great follies! So exciting that this is happening! Sorry to hear about everything that Mr. Jem has to go through - I hope that everything goes well for him Thursday.
