Welcome ICLW'ers,
I'm Jem. I'm 2 weeks away from my 40th birthday. Yes, that freaks me out. I've always planned on being pregnant before 40... hmmm. I did get pregnant (see below)... I guess I should have been specific in my goal-setting -- "I want to be carrying a viable baby by 40." In any case, that dream is dead.
You can see my full IF journey to the right, but, in a nutshell, been TTC for a few years, but only with medical intervention since mid-2009. As we're Male Factor, we jumped directly to IVF, with a fresh cycle in November and frozen cycle in January. Both resulted in a BFP, but one chemical pregnancy, and the other ectopic with a good 6 weeks of drama to "resolve" it. No fun.
Right now we're on a break as my work is super demanding until our sales conference mid-May. I'm finally starting to imagine starting another cycle... in June. I haven't had as much to post about while on a break (sorry, dear readers).
In the meantime, today is CD1, for whatever that's worth. Mr. Jem had a SA yesterday, after being on Clo.mid for 2.5 months. Clom.id has lowered his libido to zero, so we're both anxious to hear how the SA went. Mr. Jem meets with Dr. Johnson, his urologist tomorrow. I'll be sure to update you all.
One last word: I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the love and support out here in the bloggy world. I love your comments and love your blogs. Thank you!
Jem

I'm right there with you on turning 40 (just a few weeks later) and also having thought I'd be pregnant, certainly, by that milestone. So much for planning things out! Wishing you luck on your June cycle!
Sending ++ thoughts for your DH's SA results and your cycle this coming June!
Hi Jem,
Do you ever feel like you are at an AA meeting and it starts with "Hi My Name is Mommy In Waiting and I'm an infertile?" Maybe it's just me.
I am holding thumbs and crossing fingers and hoping Hoping HOPING that Mr Jem's SA gives you the best of results.
Glad to hear that you're almost ready to get back on the horse!! I'm always rooting for you!!!!
Came here via ICLW, and I have to chuckle that your husband's urologist is named Dr. Johnson. Amazing ^_^ Good luck with this next cycle!
Happy ICLW!

Happy ICLW week!
Sorry to hear the dream didn't work out as planned. I am glad hope is able to resurface, and I hope your new birthday year brings you the luck you need. Loss is so much to bear, and you've had enough.
(Also, as a side funny note- your schedule on the side says, you had a year of total denial in 2008- I had one of those that year too!)
Oh I'm so sorry to hear about both of your losses, I just had a C/P myself. It's horrible. I hope you get good news with the SA and the IVF in June is a go!

Happy ICLW!
I hope your next cycle is the one where you get a nice and sticky BFP! I hope your hubby's SA comes back good and everything will be good to go for June. Good luck with everything!
I'm your newest follower from ICLW. Great blog...can't wait to read more. We're suffering with male factor infertility too. We've had one IVF that was unsuccessful. It was devastating, but I'm learning to move on.
Wishing you all the best with the urologist. Here's hoping that your 40th year will bring amazing things! 40 is the new 20, or so they say!
happy iclw
