Who are you?

Quick questions for all you IF bloggers out there:

  • How anonymous is your blog?
  • Do friends and family know you blog?
  • Do they follow your blog?
  • Have you told your co-workers?
  • How do you feel about that?

Just curious.

* How anonymous is your blog?
Not very. I've posted pictures and our first names. You could probably find it by googling brandyshea, that is the username I use for everything.
* Do friends and family know you blog?
A few friends know about it. No family does and they never will.
* Do they follow your blog?
A few close friends do.
* Have you told your co-workers?
About the blog? No. About infertility? A couple

- Umm...probably not as anonymous as it should be, but it's not a problem for now.
- I've mentioned to people that I'm blogging, but I haven't actually given them the address. Eventually, I hope that our family can use the blog to follow our progress if we have to go through more extensive treatments. Right now, I'm just venting, so it's less useful for them.

- Not yet.
- Less comfortable with coworkers than family.
We deal with depression in my family, too. And, I generally believe it's better for everyone if it's not a secret. Why should it be? The stigma is stupid! That's my general view on our infertility journey, too, but blogging is completely new to me, so we'll see how it develops.

* How anonymous is your blog? Almost completely, I think.

* Do friends and family know you blog? Only 1 IRL friend, and I hope to keep it that way.

* Do they follow your blog? Yes and I return the favour and follow his. Though I do sometimes regret telling him about it as I don't feel quite as free as I would like sometimes.

* Have you told your co-workers? About the blog - no. About IF / IF treatment - a few, a couple of whom have been through / going through IF treatment too.

* How do you feel about that? Mostly it's good they know, other times I wish no-one did as I can't bear the (genuine) concern and questions. And reporting back to BFNs is no fun either!

I like questions!!

* How anonymous is your blog?

It's pretty anonymous. I haven't posted any personal pictures (though I'm a a new blogger!) and I have code names for me and my husband. Though having developed some friendships with fellow bloggers, a couple of them know who I am!

* Do friends and family know you blog?

My husband does. No one else.

* Do they follow your blog?

My husband will read it from time to time. He likes reading the comments!

* Have you told your co-workers?

No - while there are probably one or two that I could tell - I'm just not going there for now.

* How do you feel about that?

I kind of like the anonymity. I feel like I can really say what I feel and I appreciate the feedback from others who understand what we're going through. It's nice for me not to have to 'censor' for friends/co-workers.

* How anonymous is your blog? Very.

* Do friends and family know you blog? no.

* Do they follow your blog? nope.

* Have you told your co-workers? about the blog? no. About IF issues, some.

* How do you feel about that? about telling co-workers about IF? ok i guess, they are more like friends than co-workers. about staying anonymous? i am by nature a private person, so i like it. i also feel that the blog is a place i can say the ugly stuff, stuff that needs to get out to an understanding audience that has been thru it themselves. i don't have that IRL.

How anonymous is your blog?
Probably not as anonymous as i would like it to be. Oh well, I'll live

Do friends and family know you blog?
All of the wifes family and freinds do, I really haven't told anyone on my side yet!! (It's a man thing)
Do they follow your blog?
The people who do know about the site do
Have you told your co-workers?
About infertility, yes. Blog, No.
How do you feel about that?
Regardless of who finds the blog or finds out about my IF, I feel so much better writing about it than holding it all in. This is my escape, release, and it's what keeps me sane!!
