I am feeling sooooooo good today, almost giddy. I wonder what the reason is? Could it be the joy of having my parents come visit - I love spending time with my mom, just cooking with her is one of those "happiness is..." moments.
Yesterday we added the Gono.relix shot. No problem. Despite the Meno.pur (evil) burn, I like doing the shots because I'm actually "Doing Something!" I'm sure many of you can totally relate.
At the clinic we discussed the fact that we're not doing Ovi.drel shot for a trigger this time. Instead we are doing a purer form of HCG. I like this, even if it means mixing the drugs instead of the pre-made syringe.
I'm "working from home" today, which means doing emails mixed with a walk with my parents, a conference call, then lunch, then more emails. You know the drill.
The folks just left. They borrowed my car and are driving up to Anderson Valley for my uncle's memorial service (I'll tell that horrible story another post). It's 4 hours each way and I opted out for a couple of reasons. 1) I have a monitoring appointment tomorrow and 2) I don't want to be in a car for 8 hours tomorrow. My ovaries are getting that warm feeling and I'm starting to feel "full" down there. Plus, I'm not that close to that aunt and uncle and my folks will "represent" the family just fine.
Oh, and 3) my neighbors, who have become friends (we go out to dinner with them, etc.) are moving and another neighbor is hosting a small BBQ for them at 5 p.m. We really want to be there. (Does that make me a bad person?)
So, back to this feeling giddy. I think it might be *HOPE* (gasp! What? Dare we HOPE that this cycle works? Could we?) Yes, boys and girls, hope is in the hizzy!
Welcome back, Hope!
~Jem

8 mm?
Yesterday we had my ute scan to see if I made the 8 mm lining check. The sonographer measured and measured and we made it!
FET scheduled for Thursday, Jan 7! With Dr. W. I start 6 days of progesterone on the 2nd. Got my circles drawn in and everything.
I feel really ready this time. I feel good physically and mentally. After having had a bit too much of my parents, they left for the afternoon, which gave me and Mr. Jem some breathing room.
The next day the helped us with a landscaping project (weed barrier and chips put down on a 1,200 square foot area). The following day they bought us a set of shelves for our garage and helped us totally clean out the garage. We have boxes to sort through and put the stuff we want to keep in bins, but we can actually see the cement floor of the garage. It's a miracle!
I am very very grateful for their help, their support, their love.
My parents flew off this morning for a month in Oaxaca, Mexico. They are so active and lead such full lives.
After a day of total relaxation today to catch up on sleep and R&R, Mr. Jem and I are planning some fun activities.
Question for all y'all: Is it okay for me to go into hot tubs? I know it isn't AFTER transfer, but is okay before?

Oregon bound
Tomorrow Mr. Jem and I will fly up to Eugene Oregon to visit my parents. We are both looking forward to a weekend of relaxation, eating good, fresh food (my parents are amazing gardeners), and playing golf.
Here's a picture of me playing with ladies from my women's golf association earlier this year.
Golf is such a fun sport and a great way to bond with my family. My step-father got me playing last Labor Day during our annual Oregon pilgrimage last year. I've gone from complete beginner with no swing, to decent beginner, with a swing, and working on my short game. Did I mention I love the sport? So relaxing and exhilarating, all at the same time. And never boring!
So, anyways, it should be a good weekend with the 'rents. They are so supportive of our IF situation. Yes, they want grand kids. They did say if we end up with triplets they'll move down to our area in California to help take care of the babies.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Here's to all of us succeeding and having our very own (baby) labor day! And for all those adoptive parents (future and -to-be), you rock!
Love,
Jem
