19w1d: Pregnancy update + new bump pic

(Today's post will be all about pregnancy. If you don't feel like reading about that right now, I completely understand. Hope to see you again soon.)

Total Weight Loss/Gain: I'm up around 15 pounds from the date of my dIUI. Thanksgiving caught up with me.

Maternity Clothes: Yup. 100%. Still loving the pants and showing off my bump with cute tops. Wanna see?

Stretch marks: some on my hips. My bump is itchy, which tells me things are stretching... any stretch cream recommendations out there?

Sleep: I tend to fall asleep on the couch next to Mr. Jem and with Sharky on my lap around 8:00. I usually wake around 10, and then have a hard time falling back to sleep. Always wake at 3:30 a.m. - gotta pee.

Movement: Fluttering. Some movement feels like gas.

Cravings/Aversions: Appetite and capacity to eat has increased from last week. Not craving junk food like before, so I'm taking advantage of the healthy eating, bringing my own lunches (rather than buying chili cheese fries). I still get full really fast.

Gender: It's (still) a Girl!

Symptoms: 2nd trimester is the best. No nausea, more energy. Still mobile. Feeling bigger this week. And a little more tired than last week.

What I miss: Nothing!

What I look forward to: Getting the nursery together. 20 week anatomy scan.

Moods: Very, very happy and excited. Grumpy after being awakened from my evening nap.

Milestones:  Was given two bags of hand-me-down girl baby clothes over the weekend. First clothes we've received. All those cute little outfits and pink stuff made me cry.

Medical concerns: None, except that I may be gaining too much weight.

Sex?: Mr. Jem is still very hesitant to engage in any type of activity, but we actually gave it a go this weekend. Um, it was different. Regular to-go moves didn't really work and had to try new things, angles (blushing slightly).

Misc: Very excited to be attending a brunch this Sunday for all the women in my Resolve group who have gotten pregnant recently. There are 7 of us!

Can't wait to hear your belly cream recommendations!

Straight up Eucerin cream in the big tub. It's the most heavy duty yet basic cream and was recommended to me by my doc. Nary a stretch mark to be seen on this pale white ass body which is amazing. Main caveat : apply before bed since you become a lube ball.

I *just* started using this product but others swear by it: Bella B's Tummy Honey Butter. (Full disclosure: though it supposedly does prevent stretch marks, I don't believe anything really does--I think who gets them and who doesn't is genetics--so I bought this to ease the itchy, dry skin on my belly.)

Oh yay for 19 weeks!! I'm enjoying the second tri so much better too!

As for the creams, I've been using Bio-Oil that I bought from Costco. It states that it's supposed to help stretch marks, scars, etc...I'm not too sure about that. Like the previous poster said, I don't think anything really actually prevents stretch marks, but we can hope!!

I used Cocoa Butter lotion...I didn't get any stretch marks but my doc said it's all genetics anyway. I smelled good though :-)

I've been told by a few docs that it doesn't matter what cream you use....the only thing that "may" help is just keeping the skin moist. I use regular old palmers cocoa butter!

Wow. You look great! I've had serious belly itch as well and a friend of mine gave me Mama Bees belly butter, which I like a lot.

You look great!!! I used a daily 24/7 lotion with vitamin E after showering. Nothin' special, just something to keep the itch away.

Bonjour,

Thanks for your comment on my blog!

Ton français est très bon. C'est vrai que c'est une langue parfois difficile et je te trouve vraiment bonne d'en avoir garder un si bon souvenir après tant d'années sans pratique...!

Congratulation for your pregnancy. You look great and I wish the best for you and your family (hope to join you soon in the "family" category!)
