Bring it!

One of the blogs I follow (hi Sarah!) just received their adoption placement. The cutest little boy. So I retract everything I said on Sunday about considering living childless. This is a battle I'm determined to win! Now to get a battle plan ready... donor IUI? donor embryos, donor eggs AND sperm? Adoption?

Nothing to report, but thought I'd just pop by and say hi. I apologize for not posting or commenting much. Haven't had time. It's crazy-time at work and actually it's been a bit of a relief not to be wrapped up in all things IF. Of course, my heart is still weeping at the thought of never becoming parents, and it wrenches each time I see a little one, baby, infant, toddler, pre-schooler, and on and on. Looking forward to next week's Adoption Agency Open House.

CD2 - Bloody hell!

My post-IVF cycle was a perfect 28-day cycle. Yippee!

Now it's CD 2. Is it worth trying naturally, even if Mr. Jem's got no swimmers? This weekend the two of us will sit down and figure out what our next steps will be. Do we continue treatment? dIUI? Save up for another IVF? Or should we "just adopt" (ha!)?

Lot's to talk about.

I was just informed by my doctor that my chance of having a successful pregnancy, given my age (40-42) is 20%. We'll be paying close to $20K for a 20% chance of getting pregnant, "if we treat the immunological factors that we have identified as they may well have caused a problem with implantation in your previous transfers."

Dear G-d in heaven.

Think I'll go check out some adoption blogs for inspiration...
